Changing direction

Ok so after much consideration over the last week, we have decided to take the house off the market. After seeing plenty of expensive homes that needed $10-20k worth of work done to them, we decided that our house was a PALACE in comparison. So we are going to shift direction and get some estimates on an expansion or addition to the current property. I think if we were to even take a $100k equity loan to do an addition, it would cost us about the same amount of money per month as it would to buy a different house and have to still put money into it to "fix" it. But I dont expect a modest addition to require even $100k. So Matt wants to get our heads together and come up with some ideas for how to expand and then start calling contractors for estimates and references. We don't need anything lavish. Just an extra bedroom and 1 full/1half bathroom and maybe expand some of the existing area a little. Maybe while we're at it, we'll replace the windows too and keep the cold/heat from getting into the house. Then we could live there happily for several more years I think. And the return on investment should be well worth it when we finally are ready to sell later on. But that all depends on what our plans would cost us.

I'd like to keep all our options open and explore them all to figure out which is the best road to take. I just emailed my agent about it so I am sure she will be calling me very soon to try and change my mind. Maybe I'll have Matt do the dirty work.
