My little angel baby does not like change all that much. Yesterday, I decided that it had been entirely too long since I'd washed her sheets and they were pretty gross. (HOW can a baby be so messy)?? So after her nap, I pulled out the crib from the wall and started pulling off her bumper pads and sheets. Poor Lacey lost it. She started to cry. Everything I took out of her crib, she picked up and tried to put back in and kept saying Ba! Ba! through her tears. (That means Back! Back!). I put her bumpers in the laundry basket and she'd pull them out and try to stuff them back in between the rails. I felt so bad for her. I tried to explain that they needed a bath. After I got her new sheets on, I started replacing the stuffed animals and her sippy cup in the rightful places and she was better. After that, she seemed to understand (or at least accept) that her bumpers needed a bath.
What is the concern here, you may be wondering. Well, if that was the reaction to her seeing me change her sheets, I can only imagine what is to come as we try to rearrange her room. We are starting tonight in phases. I think tonight we are moving her crib and the dresser/changing table piece. Her bumpers are clean now so they are going back in for familiarity. Also, they keep her binkies IN the crib with her instead of falling on the floor thru the crib rails. I am interested to see what her reaction is to the change tonight. Who knows....maybe it was just the Winnie-the-Pooh sheets/bumpers she was concerned about. We'll see.
