So Matt has potentially found the perfect job. He has an interview on Tuesday morning. And he has already set the wheels in motion at his current job as a scare tactic to get them to find a position for him in a leadership role. At the news of him looking for other jobs, suddenly everyone is scrambling to keep him. And is direct manager is rumored to have told someone that he would purposely give a bad referral in order to "not let him go". At hearing this, Matt has decided that even if he doesn't get this job, he'll keep applying everywhere until he gets one. But this is exactly the kind of environment that he works for and if that seems appalling, consider that this kind of thing happens all the time there. They don't want to fill the postion and on top of that, matt's the only one that actually works hard and knows that job inside and out. Instead of being "normal" and maximizing his abilities by moving him up and having him teach others, they decide to suffocate him, keep him from moving up, and keep him from moving OUT as well. It's an ass backwards place. And it's no wonder he wants out. I just hope that he can. He has two GLOWING referrals from the HR Representative and his former manager, so I hope that if a potential employer were to call his current manager and heard a bad referral, that they would wonder why or see through the bull.
However, if he gets this job, this presents a brand new nanny challenge for me. If this job is 5 days a week, my new nanny (Kitty) can't do it. She cleans houses as her main source of income and needs at least 2 days a week to do that. And Cassie may have already found a new job. I'd have to find a new FT nanny. I'm certainly not jumping the gun, but I'm gearing up to be ready for such action. We'll know in the next week or two I guess.
