More Updates

Nate got his first tooth on Monday, April 30th. The bottom right (HIS right) and then suddenly the following Monday, May 7th, the one on the left popped through! He's certainly not wasting any time! But I think that's it for a little while since the doctor didn't see any other swelling in his mouth a couple of weeks ago. I hope he starts sleeping better. He's back to 30 minute naps and waking all night long and I'm not doing anything differently. I'm going to get some Infant Motrin and see if that helps keep him asleep longer. He really needs the rest.

Nate's baptism is scheduled for May 27th and there will be 40 people here (including us). I have stupidly decided to host the after-party here at the house and will be doing all the food. If someone offers, I may request they bring something. Like sodas and chips or something. What was I thinking? Matt is never home to help with anything or to keep the kids out of my hair so I'll probably be doing all the prep and cooking after the kids are in bed. I still need to clean up the house and get these clutter things off the tables.

Lacey got a slide from my MIL and has mastered it all by herself. It's a little plastic kiddie slide. The first couple times, she wanted me to hold her hands as she came down it, then she wanted me to catch her at the bottom. She'd say "Stay here mommy" so I would stay there to catch her. Then after a while she said "No stay here anymore mommy". Awwww...she wanted to do it by herself. It was such a metaphor for the rest of her life that I immeidately recognized it as such and made me a little sad. But I was very proud of her. At some point after she had been doing it a while she said "I no scared anymore". I could just EAT HER UP.

Matt has to work his 7 day a week schedule through June 9th now instead of thru the end of May so that's no fun. Hopefully, it won't last longer than that. But I'm convinced that after all these weeks and those coming up, the new guy he's training will end up not showing up anymore and then they'll have to start all over with someone else. But let's try to stay positive that that doesn't happen. But so far we know that once he goes on his own, he'll be frequently calling out at the last minute (he already is) and that means that even on Matt's scheduled days off, he'll have to be ready for a call at 7am from the nightshift guy telling him the new guy didn't show or called out. Fun.
