Lacey's Latest Obsession

I don't know what it is about the trash can that brings Lacey such joy, but she can't get enough! Thankfully, her love affair has started to fade some. But for a while there, she LOVED to open it and look inside. She'd throw stuff away for you over and over and over. Diapers, pieces of paper, tissues. She would ge mad if you didn't allow HER to do it. Sometimes, she'd want to take things back out again and we had to work with her on not doing that. Plus, now I have to constantly spray it with disinfectant and wipe it down to clean it off for fear she'll pick up bacteria or something off of it. But she's very comfortable now with the process...open it up, drop in the trash, close the door, peek back in, close the door. SO comfortable in fact, that we now have to watch her because she takes it upon herself to decide what goes in the trash. She'll get into my rolled balls of plastic bags, unroll them, and head towards the trash can. Or she'll take a tissue and wipe her mouth once and throw it away. Any excuse to put something into the can. She almost threw away her bink one time before I caught her. But I think she's learning now that she can only throw things away when we tell her it's OK. If not, I fear what may have gotten in there that I didn't see...
