Booked and Ready for Flight!

Our reservations to Illinois have been made! And it turned out to be earlier than I expected although I expect this to be the last trip we take out there for a while, unfortunately. After this trip is over, it will be getting to close to delivery time and Matt's just about out of vacation time so he needs to keep it for the birth. After that, it will be me and TWO kids traveling and I'd rather not do it alone. So if we are to see each other for the rest of this year, they'll just have to find a way to come out and see me. Hey, we all have to make sacrifices right? :) The best part about this trip is that we will JUST have found out the sex of the baby (maybe) so we could have some very exciting news to share. Also, my back and neck really need an adjustment and who better than my super-skilled aunt to make it all better? Though I am nervous about how to keep Lacey occupied on the plane at this age, I am very excited for my parents to see her. She is bundles of fun now so I think it will end up being a very fun trip.

Sometimes, the flight list on Southwest.com sucks. In one way, they have awesome daytime flights to Indy, but NO red-eye flights. We were considering taking a late night flight on Sunday and having Lacey sleep through the whole trip. But the latest flight was at 5 pm and included a stop at Chicago Midway. But the plan would have been to rent a minivan and drive through the night and get there late Sunday/early Monday morning. I guess I could search direct flights to Chicago but that's a 4 hour drive to their house versus a 2 hour drive. So I think I'll just take my chances on keeping her occupied during the day flight. I can take a cue from my friend Liza and keep lots of fruits and snacks on hand to offer every time she peeps! It worked on the long drive to PA last weekend!
