Happy 4th of July!

No, we didn't go see the fireworks. I just didn't feel that Lacey would enjoy them enough to justify staying out late at night when she has to get up so early for school in the morning. I think next year would be good b/c she'll be old enough and the baby will still be baby enough.

Just over a month later and I am still without my car. They did finally give me a loaner so I'm driving a Honda Odyssey minivan. It's actually pretty convenient and comfortable.

The carnival is in town through Saturday so I think we'll take a quick trip over either tomorrow evening or Friday evening and see if she'll get on any of the rides (or if we're allowed to get on with her). At the very least, we can all have some yummy carnival food that only comes around a few times a year! I'd like to hit the state fair in August too. There would be more kiddie rides to choose from and she might have a better time. Not sure.

On Sunday, Matt decided to change out our slider door which ended up being a bigger project than we anticipated. After some help from the neighbor, the doors were finally on by 8 pm and after a huge thunderstorm had soaked everyone. So he spent most of yesterday finishing up the caulking and insulating and moldings. Thank goodness that's over with!

We also bought some outdoor carpet to cover the older part of our deck. It's going to cost us more than we can afford right now to change out the decking boards that have splintered pretty badly, so we are covering it up for a while instead. I think it will look nice under the gazebo we have out there.
