Planning a Birthday
It is very difficult to plan a birthday party for a child turning one. Obviously, a huge blow-out is not necessary, but making it too small just doesn't seem festive enough. So I had been struggling with the guest list for some time and finally settled on inviting only close family and friends. I prefer it to be a more intimate event. I must consider, after all, the time of year and the size of my house (and my purse). I have decided to limit the time frame to 2 hours and schedule it to fall between naptimes. Also, I thought I would make all the invitations and supply finger foods to eat. I don't want to complicate this event, like I normally would. I really want to be able to just sit back and watch and allow things to just fall in place without much assistance. Something where everyone can have a great time in the most laid back, easy-going way possible and all the attention on the little princess of honor. I hope it turns out that way. And someday, when she looks back at the pictures, I hope that she sees a great day.
