Little Smarty

My little girl has quite the personality. I believe that she is now aware that the little girl in the mirror is HER. And she is vain. I realized this on Sunday when we were home together and she was standing on the couch looking at herself in the huge mirror in the foyer, smiling, dancing, batting her eyes, sticking out her tongue, playing with her hair, and jumping up and down. All the while, cooing and laughing at herself.

Also, she has firmly decided that milk was not meant to come out of a sippy cup. Daycare has been trying for weeks and I have only made an occasional attempt to get her to drink milk from the sippy, but no go. She makes a face and throws the cup away. If you pour it into a bottle and immediately offer it afterwards, she will happily guzzle it down. It doesn't seem to be an attachment to the bottle, I just honestly think that she learned over time that milk comes out of the bottle and water/juice come out of the cup. (And soda is demanded from mommy's and daddy's cups). So it has been suggested that I add some chocolate or strawberry powder so that it changes the taste and she doesn't think it's milk. But I think we would still have the same problem. So who knows. We keep trying. Once we start weaning off the bottles, we can consider flavoring the sippy cup milk. I will have to remember with my next child to also do milk when we introduce the sippy.
