Hodgepodge Thoughts

I have no theme for my post today. My mind has been far too cluttered in the last couple of weeks but I didn't want too many days to slip away without updating our site. In fact, I had started to write a blog post three times but didn't like the tone or the subject and ended up deleting it all. No one wants to read a "downer" post so I will try to keep the negatives brief and the positives long.

My job has once again changed dimension and I will likely be back in a data entry capacity for the next year or two. It's not "official" but I don't really see it being denied. Yes, I was hoping for a promotion but that does not seem to be in my near future. But on the upside, I still have a very stable job and it pays good money so I should be thankful. Especially considering that we need every dollar we can get.

Our loan is thisclose to coming through and we will soon be able to pay off all the negative debt. The monthly amount applied to the loan will be less than what we are paying monthly now separately by about 300-400/month. That is definitely good news. And since we do not use the credit cards anymore (except for emergency expenditures), we should be safely and firmly out of debt in 5 years. Versus the 30 it would have taken us paying the minimum balances..ha ha.

In the midst of being in serious financial trouble, my Honda decided to drop the exhaust pipe on the ground where it connects to the catalayic converter (is that the right spelling?) so I was sounding like I had straight pipes and dragging along a sparking piece of metal all the way home. What's more, it cost us an unexpected $240 to get it replaced. My SUV will soon need to be fixed because the odometer no longer tracks miles and I'm pretty sure it won't pass emissions testing that way. (I think that's coming up in a couple of months). Ahh, the joy of car troubles coming at the most inconvenient times.

Lacey is a big chicken and doesn't want to walk! HAHAHA! She's so funny. I know perfectly well that she can stand up by herself and she can even DANCE while standing up and drinking from her sippy cup. But only if she doesn't know she's doing it. As soon as she realizes, she leans up on something or drops to her knees. So we rarely get to see her doing it. Also, she took 3 tiny little steps for me the other day. I believe it was Wednesday. But she won't do it most times. I think I got lucky. Matt got 5 steps out of her the next day but that was all she was giving up. All in her own time I guess.

She has a new bear that she is absolutely in love with. She HAS to sleep with it and cuddle with it in the morning. In fact, she picked it out herself in the store. She just absolutely loves this bear. Matt has named it Star. I'm sure we will all be seeing lots of it since it travels most everywhere we go. It really helps calm her.

So that's pretty much it. Just some updates for everyone reading along.
