Pedaling a Bike
Something I am learning about Nate is that you can't teach him anything over time. He has more of a "click" personality. You can try and try to direct him and nudge him and teach him the basics, but he doesn't "ease" into anything. He just all of a sudden DOES it. And not just doing it, but doing it like he's been doing it all along and you are the one that has been missing it! It's kind of like how he learned to walk. He never "tried". He never took a step or two and fell down. He went from standing himself up to taking off and never looking back. And the same is true now for his bike. I have been trying to teach him to pedal for weeks now. But he kept circling his feet backwards and not getting anywhere. Yesterday, he climbed on his bike and took off pedaling like he's been doing it all along. I almost didn't even notice at first because it was so natural. Makes me think ahead to potty training. Should I even bother trying to teach him? Or will he just show up in the bathroom one day with his pants down and ready to go like he's known how all along?
