Just as we were nearly fixed with sleep issues, we encountered another evil. A horrible yucky cold virus. Poor Lacey came down with such a terrible cough and a persistent fever. I was SURE that she had bronchitis but luckily, that was not the case. It was, however, morphing into an ear infection, so I was happy that I took her for a doctor's visit anyway since I'm pretty sure that it would have gone unnoticed. She came down with it last Saturday and could not go to daycare Monday or Tuesday. On Wednesday, I had so much work backed up that I decided to sneak her in to school. I told them that she had no fever that morning and that it if anything changed to give me a call. I knew that it would be coming but I HAD to do something....anything. So I managed to get everything done that was crucial by 11:30am and it wasn't long after that when the call came in. Of course a pick-up means that the next day is a no-go also. Luckily, Matt was home Thursday and Friday and could watch her. (Why she couldn't have gotten sick on the week where he has off Mon-Wed is beyond me).
So on Thursday, I head back to work only to feel progressively worse as the day continued. By nightfall, I was feeling pretty bad. Friday morning, I was miserable. The weather was not exactly pleasant - - cold, windy, and 3 inches of snow had fallen overnight. I decided to scrap the whole week and opted to stay home. I was sick all through the weekend as well and am only now on the upswing. I hope that we can manage to get through the rest of the winter healthy. (hey, I can hope).
