Contractions

Yesterday, I was having contractions all day long. It was exhausting and uncomfortable and even painful at times. But they were only every 20 minutes or so and by the afternoon had tapered off to 1 or 2 per hour and then completely dissipated overnight. So far today, no major activity. But I'm glad for the break. I was so achy and hurting yesterday, it was just awful. Plus, I was rushing through all the projects I am working on just in case I had to go to the hospital last night or something. Maybe I subconsciously halted the process since I had so much to do! HA!

But this morning, the headache is back and so is the heartburn. God forbid I should be comfortable.

My dad arrived on Monday evening to provide some family support in case I need to rush to the hospital. He's here to stay with Lacey overnight if necessary or pick her up from daycare and truck her back and forth from the hospital and home. She has taken to him rather quickly and he is babysitting her today alone for the first time. Yesterday was picture day at school, so I had taken her in for that. She calls him Pawpaw because she can't say Grandpa. For some reason, she also immediately thinks that Santa is pawpaw too, but they look nothing alike so I don't know why. But it's cute!

I cant decide which I like better. I think it was easier when I had Lacey because my water broke and there wasn't really any guessing. The whole "counting contractions" thing is kind of over my head and every day is spent wondering "is this it?" or "is it now" or "should I call"? It's extremely annoying. Maybe an induction isn't such a bad idea! At least then you know for sure! My next appointment is Thursday morning so we get to find out if yesterday's contractions have made any more progress.
